RCIA Youth Course

The RCIA Youth Course is adapted for younger people aged between 9 and 17 years old.

There are times when young people by the time they are 9 years or older realise that they have not been baptised or have not received First Confession and First Holy Communion but would really like to and so they look to find something that enables them to do it.

But often they find that they are too old for the programme of First Confession and First Holy Communion and too young for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults [RCIA]. It is for such young people that we have set up a formation for young people wishing to be baptised or complete their Initiation into the Catholic Faith that we have set up a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation for Youth.

Course Requirements

Candidates need to regularly attend Sunday Mass so as to understand that Virtue training, or the training in good habits, is the ground of the Course of RCIA Youth. All candidates are asked to follow The New Saint Joseph Baltimore Catechism No. 1.

Sessions normally take place in the Presbytery of St Francis de Sales in Wolverton, but if there are a large number of young people wanting to join this course, sessions will take place in the Parish Hall at St Mary Magdalene, Stony Stratford.

Course Dates

The dates & times for the next course, including the dates for the Sacraments, will always be found on the RCIA Youth Course Dates under Latest News.

There are thirteen sessions to prepare young people to receive the Sacrament of Baptism and/or First Holy Communion on Saturdays, which begins before Lent and finishes after Easter.

For those who are already baptised, there is also an additional session on the Preparation for First Confession, followed by First Confession on a Saturday midday.

After the completion of the course, there will be a date for the Reception of the Sacraments.
