Stewarding in the Parish
We have a group of Stewards who welcome parishioners attending Mass every weekend.
They hand out Hymn books and Mass leaflets and are the main contacts for any initial queries relating to the Parish, particularly for any new parishioners attending.
If you would like to assist with this and help out at any of the Masses at the weekend, please complete the form below.
Cleaning in the Parish
We have a group of Cleaners who clean the churches each week.
There are two teams, one for St Mary Magdalene and one for St Francis de Sales. Training is provided and a sheet is published amongst Cleaners each month.
If you would like to assist with this and help our cleaners to keep our churches clean, please complete the form below.

Parish Outreach
Are you interested in volunteering with either the Legion of Mary or the St Vincent de Paul (SVP) Society? Both of these groups in the Parish reach out to those who need help, as follows:
Legion of Mary
The Legion of Mary is a lay apostolic association of Catholics who, with the sanction of the Church and under the powerful leadership of Mary Immaculate, Mediatrix of All Graces, serve the Church and their neighbour on a voluntary basis in about 170 countries
The Legion exists for the glory of God through the holiness of members developed by prayer, active co-operation with Mary, and local involvement with supporting our parish by:
Visiting the sick and those who are housebound
Visiting recently baptised and First Communicants
Visiting prisoners and those in hospitals
Being the outreaching hands of our Eucharistic Community.
The Legion sees as its priority the spiritual and social welfare of each individual.
Please reach out if you would like any more information or are interested in joining the Legion of Mary. You can telephone using either of the following numbers:
Mobile: 07811816383 or Landline: 01908316867
If you are unable to become an active member at this time would you please consider becoming an auxiliary member? Auxiliary members say the Rosary every day and a few extra prayers. Again, please feel free to contact us on any of the numbers above, or complete the Contact Us form
O Mary, conceived without sin.
Pray for us who have recourse to you
St Vincent de Paul
The St Vincent de Paul Society (England & Wales) is part of an international Christian voluntary network dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms by providing practical assistance to people in need.
The essence of our work is person-to-person contact and spending time with people is our greatest gift. The work is sporadic and very much depends on what is needed at the time. It may involve:
Visiting lonely persons
Helping with some tasks around the house or garden.
Doing some shopping for someone who may be unable to get out of the house.
Accompanying them to hospital or GP visits.
The possibilities are endless and we always do what is possible.
If you would like to join the SVP then please telephone 07873 352672 and if there is a voice message, please leave your contact details.
By joining the SVP, you can make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable people in your community.
There is a short training session which can be covered in about an hour or so. You will need to have a DBS check for safeguarding purposes.
We do have some rules and these are covered in the training.
The first rule is to love God, and love your neighbour as yourself!
“We must love our neighbor as being made in the image of God and as an object of His love.” St Vincent de Paul
“God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. He has not created me for naught. I shall do good; I shall do His work. I shall be an angel of peace, a preacher of truth in my own place, while not intending it if I do but keep His commandments. Therefore, I will trust Him, whatever I am, I can never be thrown away. If I am in sickness, my sickness may serve Him, in perplexity, my perplexity may serve Him. If I am in sorrow, my sorrow may serve Him. He does nothing in vain. He knows what He is about. He may take away my friends. He may throw me among strangers. He may make me feel desolate, make my spirits sink, hide my future from me. Still, He knows what He is about.”
Saint John Henry Newman
