Rev dear Rev: Is it true that a Russian film crew has become the first crew into space to shoot a real life movie up there around the International Space Station?
Congratulations go to the Russian Film Crew for shooting a movie at the ISS in space, after returning last week the 22nd of October 21, from a 12 day trip to the space station - the first to do this in history of cinema, so well done to them. An actress called Julya went with them after only a 4 month training period, a period that normally lasts 2 years for the average astronaut and cosmonaut. So this was a stunning project. The film team spent 12 days filming the epic movie called The Challenge in and around the Space Station like a scene from the amazing new movie Lost in Space, and they emerged well and healthy from the difficult conditions of filming in weightless space. Well done to the Russian team. Thomas More would say that the project showed the triumph of fellowship in space, throwing down a gauntlet to all future Space Station users too. The 3 man film crew then made a touchdown landing in Kazakhstan the other week. Despite all that is sometimes levelled at the space missions of the astronauts, from the carbon net zero target teams of 2040, still the film crew showed that the idea is at least plausible, feasible, possible - it simply can be done. Reports emanating from USA Hollywood suggest that Tom Cruise has now got in on the act and tabled his own episode of Mission Impossible in space at the Space Station this next year. Imitation is the height of flattery. Congratulations to the Russians, well done.
