Safeguarding Audit
In November 2023, our diocese was the focus of a Safeguarding audit undertaken by the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency.
The key findings of this audit are that the Diocese of Northampton is at the overall grading of Comprehensive Assurance at this time. Exemplary practice was seen in respect of the compassionate and innovative ways in which the Diocese seeks to engage with, and support, victim-survivors.
This was a planned audit in line with recommendations presented in the final report of the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse, ICCSA published in 2022.

An invitation to survivors of abuse
The diocese would very much appreciate hearing from people who have a lived experience of abuse so that we can involve them in the work we are doing to support survivors through our Healing and Reconciliation group.
If you think you might be able to help us in this work, or if you would like to find out more about what we are doing in the diocese to support survivors, please contact:
Danielle Dixon (Safeguarding Coordinator) on 01604 723514 or safeguarding@northamptondiocese.org
