Feeding your Spiritual Life

The Season of Lent offers us the opportunity to renew our relationship with God and go into a kind of spiritual retreat.

All parishes have been supplied with copies of ‘Walk with Me - A Lenten Journey of Prayer for 2024’ as part of Bishop David’s pastoral outreach to us during Lent.

These can be found at the back of both Churches and is a fantastic way to build a faithful prayer life.

Parish Resources

Stations of the Cross

The Prayer of Lent is the Stations of the Cross where we recall and meditate on a specific event from Christ's Passion.

There are two opportunities each Friday in Lent - afternoon and evening - where we can attend this prayerful devotion.

Adoration

Spend some extra time with the Lord, Truly Present in the Most Blessed Sacrament.

You could perhaps bring some spiritual reading with you as well? See the Newsletter for dates and times Adoration is held at both Churches.

Mass

You could attend Mass during the week, not just on Sunday.

You have the opportunity to attend Mass every Friday in Lent at 12.00 pm at St Mary Magdalene.

Please see the Newsletter for other Masses that take place during the week.

Prayers

You could say some of the Divine Office each day, perhaps Morning and Evening Prayer.

If you haven’t prayed the Rosary before, now is a good time to start.

If you don’t already pray The Angelus, set an alarm as a reminder to pray this at noon and 6 pm each day.

Meditate and pray on the Psalms.
