Blessing of Easter Food in preparation for the celebratory Feast of Easter
Święconka is a long-lasting and beloved Eastern European tradition.
Baskets containing a sample of typical Easter foods are brought to the church to be blessed on Holy Saturday. Each basket is traditionally lined with a white linen or lace napkin and decorated with sprigs of boxwood (bukszpan - the Easter evergreen).
