November Holy Souls

November - the month of the Holy Souls - will be upon us before we know it!

Most of the weekday Masses throughout the month of November (until Advent) will be offered for the Holy Souls in Purgatory. You can have your departed relatives and friends remembered at the Altar at these Masses, by placing their names into the Holy Souls box, which will be in front of the altar at all Masses during November.

Don't forget to include a donation in your envelope, with your list of names, as a sacrifice to strengthen your prayers for your deceased loved ones.

Holy Souls envelopes will be available soon at the back of both Churches where you can put your list of names and your donation or you can use an ordinary plain envelope and clearly label it “Holy Souls.”

When you attend Mass in November, you can put your envelope into the Holy Souls box. Alternatively, you can put it into the collection basket at Mass and it will be put in the box for you and the names of your deceased family, friends and loved ones will be included in the November Masses for Holy Souls.

Prayer for the Holy Souls in Purgatory by St. Gertrude the Great

Eternal Father,

I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Holy Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family.

Amen

"The holy souls in purgatory are our friends.
If everyone had to adopt a holy soul to pray for, purgatory would be emptied in no time "

St. Gertrude the Great
