Eco-saving
Dr dear Dr: “Without me you can do nothing” - would these words of admonition from the Lord be applicable to the Eco-saviours of the modern climate movement?
Just as every father to a household would dearly and dearly love to be a Merlin to his household, forgetting perhaps the 3 salient qualities needed of a real objective Merlin, so too in my discernment many many Left of centre HRA human rights activists would dearly love to be a messiah to the society of their time. This also holds true for Eco-warriors -they would love to be the decisive people or pivotal totemic that eventually did save the planet from some impending green disaster. But spare a thought for Greta the Great, she now has the dubious distinction of feeling a little like Jonas amid the Ninevites. He was appalled when they actually did listen to him and repented in sackcloth and ashes, and similarly so too with Greta; she stands aside shocked and appalled that some world leaders have stopped in their tracks and turned around and started to listen to her. So it is possible to be a green saviour but most of us like Greta, follow rather than imitate a messiah, and at end of eternal day, are just Jonases.
