D’Artagnon’s Daughter

29th Nov 21 - Vlads

Dr dear Dr: I was wondering if you would have light to shed on the troubling business of being a former ballerina, and embarking on a friendship and then a relationship with a young man from Australia, who wooed and charmed me, but then at the end appeared quite dark as he managed to wean me off my faith, move me out of my church, and distanced me from my believing family. Any light to shed on this issue - what say thee? Anonymous of London.

One of the great problems of being assigned to other locations outside of London, like Paris and Rome and Dublin, is that one invariably comes back to the pastoral ministry after such wide gaps in time and experience and the whole social and spiritual landscape has changed in the meantime, the soil has moved under one's feet and sometimes quite markedly and quite rapidly too. Consequently, you can imagine my shock as I heard this report come through my surgery the first time once, and then the second time, then the third time, then the fourth time, then the fifth time, and all within a year of sitting down at my podium and sedilla - this new trend had almost become an epidemic. An Anonymous has come up with this Question from London GB, not CT. So the inquirer reports something that I would not have believed unless I had read it in some fictional novel about another place and another time. Surprising it was to pick up these living pages of another victorian novel. Left-footers wrong-footed. So if this is true, then is it all a black orange conspiracy against “left footers” as catholic boys and girls are now called very wrongly by the London Right? Curious business.

I came across a similar sort of story in a parish when a mother figure advised me that her son had gotten married but found that within a few weeks of the wedding, an old girlfriend had turned up and tried to wean him off his girlfriend and bride. She too was motivated by the dark side, using ordinary human and humane relationships to break the bonds between an isolated believer and his family, his friends, and then finally, the real target zone, his faith. What to do and what to advise when a girl or boy first becomes conscious when it is pretty much too late of another seam going on under the relationship, a darker seam of pretty nefarious intent? Apparently quite a few "left-footer" girls report this kind of thing nowadays but generally in isolated pockets of local confidentiality, usually to their mothers and fathers, where it stays for months and months without being shared about town or even shared with the local pastors.

Liberal pastors, and this is the strange thing about western ultra-liberalism, will pat the wrists of the complainants and advise them to eat their greens, urging them to ignore dark conspiracy warnings, and not to worry, to accept the boyfriend concerned and settle down and get married if possible to the dark, but there is still yet the uncomfortable feeling of having been betrayed if not used for dark purpose. The damage to the parents is often lasting, and the break up of the family unit often complete. A way back to happiness and harmony and even to the faith is rarely found, and eventually positions on both sides harden, as the young man yelps and cheers his way back to his coven or cenacle with utter unspeakable joy - another one in the can, another believer in the bin of history, another church-goer embarrassed. So the believer party is usually embarrassed as the boyfriend tries his hardest to get the girl pregnant and then abandon her, while trumpeting her condition around the town or city, and casting his aspersions on her church-going past and believer history. A favourite device of the dark side of the goths, and goths there are a many, and not all of them dressed like goths.

No obvious solution, except for mothers to advise their daughters to verify the intentions of their new boyfriends. And not to be so convinced by charm or physicality or romance especially if she feels she is being isolated at the distant edges of her consciousness. This is already auxiliary to the case in which GB boys object to a soul dimension in their girlfriends chiefly because they believe they should be the answer to all the questions of the girlfriend - a problem of exaggerated profiles of the prince charming including a messianic delusion. Often they cannot resist slating the faith of the girl chiefly because it is an area beyond their control - beyond their all-seeing eyes peering into the souls of the girl. Males seeking totalitas and control freakery over souls as well as bodies. Males of the secular kind. Males. This is how another dancer puts it somewhat churlishly. Other dancers have gotten involved in such stories, and they tell similar tales. Sad business. Reason Unaided. If there were a doctor in the house, he would prescribe Prozac. Here we can only beat the egg-timer of history with our fists. A sad tale, a sorry tale of D'Artagnon's Daughter, in need of a sword. But where are the organisations that can protect Christians and their girls? Where is the CRF, the Christian Reaction Force? A spiritual solution needed for a spiritual problem.
